Allow me to take a moment to tell you a little bit about myself and the reasons why I have chosen to work an online business. Who knows, you may be able to relate to my story.

Prior to running my own Internet marketing business, I spent my working career in construction and engineering. I studied surveying at University, and worked as a land surveyor in Brisbane, Australia for 5 years.
Like so many other young Aussies do, I caught the travel bug and headed to London in 1999 in search of new places, exciting adventure and career opportunities.

Whilst in England I worked as a site engineer on various large projects including, Wembley Stadium, Heathrow International Airport Terminal 5, Royal Ascot Race Course, O2 Arena to name a few. I loved being part of the big projects in construction and gained enormous satisfaction from a job well done. The money was great and the travels with my now wife were heaps of fun.

We returned to Australia expecting our first child after 4 years overseas. As my CV was overflowing with international construction experience dealing with projects in excess of 100 million pounds, I had many offers of employment.
Initially, I chose to work on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast for Bovis Lend Lease. As work finished on the Sunshine Coast project I transferred to Brisbane to work on the new terminal for the international airport.

The long hours at work and 4hrs of daily travel started to take a toll on myself, my wife and our two young children. I started to become uncomfortably aware of how much precious time I was missing out on with our beautiful sons.
Lucky for me, I was headhunted to work in property development on the Sunshine Coast where I had better working hours and started to have a better quality lifestyle again.

Life was great, and both professionally and in my family life, I felt very blessed. Unfortunately the global financial crisis affected the development industry in Australia and the large team I was a part of were all let go.

So I returned to what I knew best, construction. I started working on the largest infrastructure project in Australia (Airport Link and Northern Bus way project) for Thiess and John Holland (TJH). Whilst TJH gave me a six figure income and a house to live in whilst I was away, I was once again working long hours and living away from home. And even though I knew I was making the kind of money that would be the envy of many people, I was desperately missing my family. In the back of my mind, an idea was forming, and I knew that it was time to make a change.

This all came to a head when our youngest son came into our room at 4:30am on a Monday morning looking for me but I was not there. When my wife told him I had already left for work and would not be back until the end of the week, he burst into tears and said he did not want Dada to go away anymore.
When I was told this, I felt sick to the stomach. Our children are so precious, and we have so little time to be with them as it is.
That was the turning point for me.

From that day I started searching for business opportunities where I would be able to spend more time with my family, and rediscover my lost hobbies, the things in my life that I feel passionate about. My search started in the local “business for sale” web sites but they seemed so expensive and risky.
I then turned to possible franchise opportunities in the United States which I could bring to Australia.

In my search I came across an advertisement that appealed to me, it seemed to fit all my requirements, and better still it was very well priced. I signed into the website to find out more information and was blown away by what I saw; I had found what I was looking for.
I was so excited and hungry for my dream of working from home to come true and have not looked back since.

I feel so much happier and relaxed, it is extremely exciting and satisfying working in the new and developing world of Internet marketing.

I gain so much from teaching others how to market on the Internet and how they can leverage the unlimited reach of the Internet within their own small businesses. I believe the keys to success in any business are to surround yourself with other dynamic entrepreneurs, have cutting edge training from those who have achieved their own goals in this field, and never stop learning.
Using a system which works around the clock, while you are living your life gives you incredible freedom. I have experienced a minimal set up period and low overheads, I know that these factors are the envy of business owners in the “brick and mortar” business world.

The Internet can offer all of these things, but you have to know where to look. To those who know me I am young Aussie who loves family, travel, surfing, golf, camping, working out and providing for his family. I work best with a team of positive like minded people around me. I give back by working with teenagers and helping them realize their full potential, regardless of what they have come from.

I am a very involved and loving dad to my two young boys enjoying every opportunity to be the biggest kid in the room. I also love date night with my wife when we have a chance to be us again not just Mumma and Dada. Whatever I am doing I get the most satisfaction when I can help others, seeing them grow achieve and be happy.

2009 was a time of huge change for me. At times it was unbelievably challenging (as major change so often is, I guess that is why it can be difficult to commit to) but now in 2010, I am excited when I see how much progress I have made towards my goals.

I attribute this positive change in me to two things; firstly, to investing in my own personal development through the help of Klemmer and Associates. It is often said that we can only ever expect to be paid according to the value we bring to the world, and I do believe this to be true. Secondly, to making a decision to take on an internet business and work from home. I am now in touch with what I really want out of life and what I have to give back to others.

Through the work I have done in personal development I have come to realize that anyone can achieve their dreams, they just have to want them so badly that they never give up.

I made this commitment to myself and my family. I will not give up and just struggle though life, I have now taken charge of where my life is going.

After all, life is not a practice game.
